SYNOPSYS : Every year, five thousand women disappear in France. Among them, Barbara Hallen (Caroline Munro) "Top-Model" and daughter of a multimillionaire greek shipowner living in New York (Telly Savalas). This one asks a private detective, Sam Morgan (Chris Mitchum), to go to Paris and find his daughter. Walking in Barbara's footsteps, he finds himself in the plastic-surgery clinic owned by the famous Doctor Flamand (Helmut Berger) and specializing in the rejuvenation of wealthy clients (Stephane Audran, TildaThamar, etc.). To remove organs and blood he needs for his miracle cures, Doctor Flamand and his assistant Nathalie (Brigitte Lahaie) kidnap young women and keep them in the basement of the clinic... A year ago,Flamand has seen his sister Ingrid (Christiane Jean) totally disfigured by acid. Since then, she lives locked in her room, waiting to recover her former beauty. To help him in this difficult task, Doctor Flamand calls Juan Moser (Anton Diffring), an ex-nazi surgeon. In the meantime, Morgan's investigation closes around Flamand and Nathalie, causing them to eliminate witnesses, illustrating Edgar Allan Poe's saying: "If there is but one life, there are several ways to end it..." In this immoral thriller, fuil of violence and anxiety, the "bad guys" will win and the "good guys" die. But in New York, Terry Hallen (Telly Savalas) may well have the last word..
